How much do dealers pay at auctions for cars.?
I want a car that is 5,000 dollars. How much would it sell for at auction something like a 97 Mercedes Benz E320? The 5000 is what a dealer would sell for, how much would the dealer buy it wholesale at auction? for $250 a dealer salesman will take me to the auction.

- There are way too many variables: the condition of the car, the mileage, the color combination, options, its "heat" factor in your area, and if its a previous rental. All these play into the final bid for each car. And unless you buy and sell cars for a living and know them inside out, including their wholesale and retail prices, plus how much repairs will be, you'll be making a blind bid. And that can haunt you if you bid wrong. A salesman is charging you $250 to go to the auction with him? What a rip off! It doesn't cost him a thing to go. He's made a decent commission off you without selling you anything! What if you don't find a car on the day you go? Will he refund your rmoney? Or take you for free until you do find a car? I doubt it. Do yourself a huge favor, forget the auction. Save your $250 and put it towards a car that's already been thoroughly reconditioned.
- One of those will cost you a little more than $5,000 at a dealer's auction. You should make sure that they have that car for sale first before you even go to the auction with the dealer. Otherwise you'll be wasting $250. If you want a good car auction you can go to, you should join one of those car auction sites that list auctions in you city/state. They also let you know what cars they have for sale before you even go so you won't waste your time.
- Send me an email, tell me what car you're looking for (year, make, model, and mileage). I'll send you a run list from the major dealer only auctions in Florida with the average wholesale prices.
